A NEW bus service which will serve parts of Rastrick and Clifton will be on the road on Tuesday.
The 258, being funded by Calderdale Council and Community Transport Calderdale, will run from Monday to Friday between 9.30am and 3pm.
Key features of the new service, to be operated by a brand-new, low-floor, easy-access vehicle, are a new bus link to the Rosemount Health Centre in Elland (not currently served by buses), the restoration of bus services to the Thornes Park area of Rastrick, improved links to community facilities at Crow Trees Lane, an improved service between Clifton and Brighouse and will allow for through travel from Elland to Clifton.
‘Hail and ride’ will be possible on many parts of the route to assist elderly or infirm passengers. The route will serve Tesco and Sainsburys supermarkets in Brighouse and use Brighouse Bus Station.
