PLANS have been unveiled for a possible health centre, care home and car park on the Sugdan’s Mill site, in Brighouse.
Younger Homes is seeking permission to demolish Crowtrees Garage and put up a five-storey building with an underground car park at the junction of Huddersfield Road and Mill Royd Street.
As well as a health centre, it would incorporate a care home and a shop.
There would be additional parking space at the back of the building stretching towards Briggate.
The architects for the scheme say they want to create a landmark building that people can use as a directional reference point.
The entrance has a two-storey curved glass frontage.
“The power to the building will eventually be generated by an Archimedes screw that will be sited in the River Calder.”
