Walkers are being urged to put their best feet forward and sign up for the Rotary Navigation Walk 2014.
The fourth event of its kind will follow a 20 mile route along the banks of the Calder and Hebble Navigation between Horbury in the east and Sowerby Bridge in the west.
For the second time this year there will be a link to the Spen Valley Greenway adding an extra two miles to the walk.
This year’s event will be held on Sunday, April 6 and there are walks of varying lengths along the route.
The Navigation Walk raises funds for four hospices which serve the people of Calderdale, Kirklees and Wakefield - Overgate, Forget-Me-Not, Kirkwood and Wakefield. Each hospice will receive an equal share of all money raised.
The three previous walks have raised more than £42,000.
The walk will pass through Brighouse with a start point at Bethel Street and also at the Barge and Barrel pub in Elland. Transport is provided to start and finish points if required.
Registration costs £6 for adults and £1 for children under 16 years.
Online registration is available at www.rotarynavigation.co.uk or phone the registration officer on 01924 279836.
Ian Hamer of Brighouse Rotary Club said: “Weather permitting we are hoping for a good attendance. Posters are being placed in local Brighouse shops and Rotary volunteers will be heavily involved as marshals on the day.”
