PLANS to extend a golf club house have been approved by councillors.
The development at Crow Nest Park Golf Club, Hove Edge, will almost be double the size of the building including a new function room.
A conservatory will be demolished and this will be replaced by a new extension adding more space for the club.
The plans had caused controversy with 52 letters of objection being received by Calderdale Council’s planning department.
A further 23 letters of support were received as well as a petition containing 400 signatures.
Representatives from the club sought to allay fears saying they had removed advertising for members of the public and the function room would be used exclusively by club members.
The scheme was approved unanimously by councillors.
Opening hours at the club will be covered by a section 106 agreement.
These will be restricted to 6am to midnight Mondays to Saturdays and 8am to 11pm on Sundays and Bank Holidays.
