MUSIC lovers and families turned out in force as a pub’s fundraising event made a welcome return.
The Hipperstock festival held at the Whitehall pub, Leeds Road, Hipperholme, made a triumphant comeback with visitors coming from far and wide.
A fun-packed day was organised for all ages and carried on into the night with karaoke inside the pub.
Live music was held outside which featured four acts – Scott Holeguard, Hailey Rose, Rob James and Dave Kennedy – all who gaved their time.
There were plenty of stalls, raffle prizes, face painting, tombolas and a bouncy castle. A disco and Zumba entertainment was put on after the bands had played.
The event was aimed at raising money for Help the Heroes.
Licensee Margaret Womersley said the day had raised £1,200 and they were still counting.
“We hadn’t staged the event for the last few years so it was great to do it again,” she said. “It is definitely something we will look to do again next year.”
Local businesses and groups also helped by donating prizes and Margaret said a big thank you to them for their support.
They included Charisma, Rowlands chemist, Veg Shack, Event Plus, Paw Prints, Shah Court management company, Peter Coenen, Beauty Lounge, Anisa’s, The Works and Mamma Napoli.
