A young girl guide has raised more than £300 in a fundraising challenge.

Molly Roberts, a member of the 2nd Rastrick Guides, clocked up 4,607 lengths of swimming pools to raise funds for the Save our Pool campaign at the Sangam Guide World Centre in India.

The ten-year-old completed the challenge as part of her Girlguiding Community Action Badge as £40,000 needs to be raised for the swimming pool at the centre to be replaced.

Molly said: “I really enjoy swimming, and swim at Halifax Swimming Club.

“I’m really pleased that I have combined my swimming and Guiding interests and raised so much money. I hope one day to visit Sangam and swim in their new pool.”
