Eight-year-old Mollie Catlin has proven why she is a cut above the rest.
The Brighouse youngster had 14inches of her hair cut off but rather than just throwing it away she decided to donate it to the Little Princess charity which makes wigs for children with cancer.
Her mum Amanda said: “She wanted to have her hair cut and I just thought there is far too much to cut it off and throw it away so we looked on the internet and found this charity which is one that a few people had already mentioned to me.
“Then at the last minute, literally about 24 hours before, we decided to get some sponsorship and so far she has raised just under £300 for the charity.”
Mollie attends St Andrew’s Junior School in Brighouse where she also featured in the school’s newsletter about her achievement.
“I am really proud of her and I think she is proud of herself. She took it into school to show everyone and I think that has helped her realise what a big thing she has done. She has done such a lovely thing for such a good cause,” said Amanda.
