Woman dies after being pulled from river in Brighouse

A woman has died after being pulled from a river by firefighters in Brighouse today.

Crews from Brighouse, Elland, Leeds and Rothwell were called to help after someone was reported falling off Rastrick Bridge, off Huddersfield Road, at 1.11am.

She was pulled from the water and paramedics tried to administer CPR on the woman, understood to be 52 and from Brighouse, but she could not be saved.

Her death is not being treated as suspicious.
