A 64-year-old woman fell to the floor after having her handbag snatched from shoulder in Huddersfield.

Police are appealing for information in relation to a robbery which occurred on Sunday, April 20, along the Beast Market.

At around 11.15pm, a 64-year-old woman was approached by a man who removed her bag from her shoulder. The suspect made off from the scene along Leeds Road with the bag.

DC Maxine Coulson, of Kirklees CID, said: “The victim fell to the floor after losing her footing and sustained minor injuries to her hand.

“She then chased the man for a distance, before he made away. He is described as being in his twenties, clean shaven with short hair.

“I would ask that anyone with any information about the incident or who saw this taking place to come forward via the non emergency number 101 asking for Detective Sergeant Nigel Gittings. Information can also be passed to Crimestoppers in confidence on 0800 555 111.”
