STAFF at the Holiday Inn celebrated 2011 with a “night at the movies”.
The end of year celebration was a way of saying thank you to the members of staff at the Clifton hotel for all the hard work they put in throughout the year.
The movie theme, voted for by the staff, also proved quite a talking point for a month running up to the event as staff discussed which movie character they wanted to be.
They included Batman, Jack Sparrow, Tom Cruise from Top Gun and various characters from Grease.
General manager, Louise Dodd, who organised the event with the help of the hotel management team, said they had all put in a lot of effort. “They prepared their own costumes, some made them and others went out and bought them but they all looked brilliant.

“The evening consisted of a champagne reception followed by a buffet and awards ceremony which included awards from manager of the year, department of the year and employee of the year. We then enjoyed a disco until the early hours.
“The evening was our way of saying thank you for all their hard work and to give them chance to relax and celebrate all the good things we have achieved throughout the year.
“Everyone can attend because we bring in staff from another hotel to come and look after the place so no one has to work at all on the night. It makes up for missing out on the festivities over Christmas and new year.
“This year’s event was absolutely fantastic and we are already looking forward to the next one.”
She said the company would also be holding another event in the middle of the year which was an awards ceremony for staff throughout the chain.
