Brighouse Salvation Army welcomed a new leader in a special ceremony to mark the beginning of her service.
Lieutenant Claire Whybrow was given a rousing welcome to the Brighouse community as she entered the Brighouse Salvation Army hall last Sunday.
Travelling from Leeds, Lieutenant Colonel Lyn Highton came from Salvation Army Divisional Headquarters to host the induction service.
A full hall, including the Mayor of Calderdale Councillor Pat Allen; her consort Robert Weeks; representative from the Churches Together team, Rev Barbara Lydon; and the President of the Women’s World Day of Pray Group in Brighouse, Michelle Petch, attended the event.
The crowd witnessed Claire make sacred promises in front of God and the congregation to serve the community of Brighouse.
Claire takes over the position from Major David Radford, who retired after 35 years of service.
