Tributes have been paid to two Queensbury men who died in a fatal accident on Ovendon Road, Halifax.

The Major Collision Enquiry Team has issued a witness appeal as a result of the incident which happened at around 10pm yesterday (Friday, February 7),

A Volkswagen Golf GTI is believed to have collided with a lamppost while travelling away from the town centre.

The driver, a 20-year-old male, and the passenger, a 19-year-old male, both from the Queensbury area of Bradford, were killed as a result of the impact.

A rear seat passenger, a 19-year-old man, received a serious but none life threatening foot injury and was taken to Leeds General Infirmary.

Police are yet to confirm the names of the two men who died, but friends and family have been paying their respects at the scene of the incident all day.

As well as countless number of floral tributes, there is also a Bradford City flag - with both men said to be keen fans of the Bantams.
