A shed load caused chaos when it shut Calderdale Way in Elland for nearly five hours.

The road was shut coming towards Halifax between Ainley Top and Elland Bridge until 10.46am today.

The incident was reported to police at 5.53am and happened near The Barge and Barrell pub.

Firefighters said the lorry’s load includes animal feed and PVA glue.

Diversions were in place. Huge queues built up around the area.

Several bus services were caught up in the jams, causing delays to services.
