TV star shows her support for hospice

Claire Young, Apprentice finalist and ambassador for Youth enterprise is speaking at the first meeting of the 99ers group.

The 99ers scheme was set up just over a year ago, and asks for local businesses to donate just 99p a day to help the Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice to provide care and support to the children and families in West Yorkshire.

The first meeting will be tonight at Prego in Brighouse at 5pm when Claire will be speaking along with Mamas and Papas creative director Olivia Robinson.

The 99er scheme is not only designed to benefit the charity though, with a number of advantages also being gained by the supporting businesses too.

Quarterly networking meetings, joint press releases opportunities and relationship building with other 99ers are just some of the advantages businesses can receive.

There are currently 39 businesses who have signed up to the scheme. Non-99er businesses are also being invited to the event to be able to understand what the group, and the charity, is about.

Jason Costello, corporate fund-raiser said: “We are so grateful to our 99ers for the fantastic support that they show, their 99p a day goes a long way to helping us maintain a sustainable income for the charity.

“We are excited to be seeing some new faces in the room who are interested in the 99er scheme and hopefully they will be able to see just how great being a 99er really can be for a business.”
