Tributes to Brighouse accident victim

TRIBUTES have been paid to a Brighouse man killed in a road accident near his home.

Twenty-eight-year-old Chris Camplin died at the scene after his Kawasaki Ninja motorcycle was in collision with a Vauxhall Astra at the junction of Garden Road and Halifax Road, Brighouse, at around 7.45pm on Friday.

Mr Camplin, a keen biker, of Hove Edge, Brighouse, was flung into a nearby wall and despite the efforts of paramedics and a passing doctor, died at the scene.

Around 30 friends and relatives gathered at the crash scene to lay tributes, among them his motorbike jacket,a football shirt and flowers.

One moving message described Mr Camplin as "A legend in his own right", adding that he would be missed by many.

Police are currently studying video footage of the crash.

Halifax Road was shut in both directions for several hours on Friday night.
