Time flies...from Christmas to Easter

How quickly we move from Christmas to Easter in time but how slowly in our minds.

We need to make the mental journey from Bethlehem to Jerusalem, from Christmas to Easter. Why? The two are forever linked.

It was announced at Christmas concerning the baby to be born; “She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins.”

Later Jesus said to those who opposed him: “No one takes it (my life) from me, but I lay it down of my own accord.

“I have authority to lay it down and authority to take it up again.”

Some years later Peter, who was there at the time, wrote: “He himself bore our sins in his body on the cross...”

These two events tell us two highly significant things about God. He came to us as a real human being and willingly died on a Roman cross to deal with the heart of our problem.

Surely this is worth investigating this coming Easter?
