SNOW showers were not enough to stop almost a hundred people attending the first ever Eastfield School reunion.

The event entitled ‘Eastfield Secondary School, the days before Hipperholme and Lightcliffe’ saw 95 former pupils recall memories at the Stoney Lane school.

Held at Heath Rugby Union club, Stainland, organiser and former student Phil Barsby said plans are already being made for another reunion, with the next one set to go worldwide.

“It has been a great success with people coming from London, Scotland and all over the country,” he said.

“It’s incredible how everything snowballed with texts and Facebook messages to be able to organise an event like this.

“There was lots of singing and dancing and we managed to fill five pages of the guest book with memories.

“We are already discussing another reunion but hopefully we will have people coming from Australia, Germany and America.

“I want to say a massive thank you to everyone who came and has been involved with it.”

The ‘Eastfield Reunion Part Two’ is being scheduled for July 21, with a prom theme a possibility and a venue to be confirmed closer to the time.
