A CAR show which included nearly a million pounds worth of vehicles created quite a buzz at a Hove Edge school.

The noise of their engines could be heard leaving St Chad’s CE Primary School grounds as parents, children and another 50 guests from outside the school community attended to see the cars.

The event was organised by the F1 in Schools team at the school which is entering the regional finals in Scunthorpe on February 27.

The supercars, which included a Maserati, Lamborghini, Porsches and a Subaru, are privately owned by Richard Clark and Stuart Lomax, the latter who is a local Brighouse businessman who runs a supercar club called Supercarzone.com which is a community set-up for supercar owners.

Head teacher Graeme Genty said the evening was a huge success. “The noise of their engines leaving the school was amazing and the fact that we had nearly a million pounds worth of cars on the school playground was just fantastic and created a real buzz. We even had one family who drive over from the east coast to see the cars because they’d seen it in the Echo,” he said.

The evening included tattoos for the children, an F1 Scalectrix challenge and photo opportunities with the cars.

“Many thanks must be given to our HSA members who supported the evening brilliantly,” he said. “All in all the team raised £425 which will get them looking professional and well on the road to the regional finals. Hopefully we can reach the national finals for the third year running.”
