It was a fun day to remember at The Bridge on June 1 as they raised funds for The Summer Allen Appeal.
They had outside music and games provided by Phoenix Roadshow and Events, on a trailer provided by Naylor Myers. The Bouncy Castle was hired from Rockin’ Ronnies.
There was live entertainment from “Dagmar Massive” and “Jackson” followed by karaoke. There were various stalls including buns, cake, and sweets which were made and run by local volunteers, and there was also a temporary tattoo stall run by Dragon Tears.
Plus Summer Allen merchandise and hot food which included hot dogs that Sainsbury’s in Brighouse donated, pie and peas donated by The Bridge, and Chinese chicken curry donated by customers, plus face painting by Tina and a tombola stall.
There was a raffle with prizes donated by the following companies and customers: Two Nintendo DSI from Calderdale Royal Hospital, a plant from Simply Flowers, two bottles of Champagne donated by The Calder, Rose Wine from Brighouse Convenience Store, White Wine donated by Michelle Gelder, Pink Cava from Mark Grundy, a £20 voucher by Dragon Tears, £10 machine play from Betfred, a Family Pass to Cannon Hall Farm, £20 meal voucher to enjoy at The Globe Inn, fish and chips voucher from Thomas’s Fish and Chip Shop, £10 voucher to Kayley ‘n’ Den’s Cafe, £10 voucher to spend at Enzo, £20 voucher from the Cake Maker Shop, a Towel Set by Living, three Ornaments donated by Rowantree, a Zumba voucher and Fit Steps Class voucher by Lisa, beer tokens from The Ship Inn, a £10 voucher to spend at Napolena, a £10 meat raffle from Jim Murphy and a bottle of Martini from Blakeborough’s Club.
The highlight of the day was personal visit from Summer herself, along with sister Paige and her mum and dad - and the weather stayed with them all day.
Manager Kirsty Gelder said: “I would like to say a great big thank you for everyone who helped and supported us on the day: the staff of The Bridge, family members, friends and the locals.
“We raised a grand total of £1034.50.”
