Sound and light spectacular

TRIBUTE band The Spirit Of Pink Floyd will perform their biggest UK outdoor concert at the Piece Hall, Halifax, on July 18.

Managed by Brighouse promoter John Wagstaff and his outfit Now Music, the internationally-acclaimed band’s spectacular show will appeal to Pink Floyd fans and music lovers of all ages.

Featuring six former members of Off The Wall, the new line-up has recently been in production rehearsals with a top producer from Los Angeles. The show will feature nine top vocalists and musicians, a new lighting show and thought-provoking animations.

Mr Wagstaff said: “The band is just back from Japan where they did five sell-out shows in Tokyo and five in Sapporo. There is a huge appetite for the music of Pink Floyd in Asia. Also this year the band has been to Holland, Germany, Romania and Russia.

“ The show is very slick and gets more spectacular each year.

“The band is delighted to be returning to the Piece Hall. It makes a superb setting and this year we are hoping to have a laser light show. The music of Pink Floyd is as popular as ever and goes on reaching new audiences.”

Band member Stella Fairhead, on guitar and vocals, making her eighth appearance at the Piece Hall, said: “I’m thrilled to be bringing this new show to my home county and have been overwhelmed by the reaction to it this year. The guys in the band are really excited and can’t wait for the fans to see the new show.”

Other band members include Neil Fairclough on bass guitar and vocals, Andy Gibson on lead vocals, Ben Appleby on saxophone and percussion and Dave Cottrell on drums.

Tickets for the Piece Hall show cost 20 and are available from the Victoria Theatre box office on 01422 351158.
