Homeless people across Calderdale will be given some Christmas cheer thanks to the help of Sainsburys.

The Brighouse store on Huddersfield Road has been supporting Calderdale SmartMove over the months with donations such as tinned foods, drinks and cereals.

Staff members Karen Drennan and Gail MacFarlane are the driving force behind the scheme where, along with colleagues, collect food that will be used to help feed the homeless people in Calderdale.

Chief executive of the charity, Stuart Rumney, said they were very appreciative and humbled with the support they get from Karen and Gail who, along with their colleagues, are the driving force.

Calderdale SmartMove is a registered charity that assists homeless and vulnerably housed people to find accommodation in Calderdale. They were established in July 1998 and have a Management Committee made up of volunteer members and staff who oversee and plan SmartMove activities.
