RSPCA looking for new homes for cats
A large number of cats are in need of a new home.
The RSPCA Halifax and Huddersfield branch has more than 100 cats which are in need of a good home, with the number increasing by the day.
The charity can only care for 40 cats and with people choosing more colourful ones, the black cats are being overlooked.
Lyndsey Howarth and Rebekah Liddle are helping to publicise the appeal for the charity.
They said: “The increasing amount of cats and kittens coming into our centre has impacted greatly on our supplies and we are struggling to keep up with the demand for cat food.
“With lots of hungry mouths to feed we are appealing for cat food donations.
“ We would be grateful for any kind of cat food, either dry, wet or biscuits - anything would be a great help to our cattery.”
There is a fund-raising page for the centre and if anyone would like to donate they can visit www.justgiving.com/LyndseyandBecky
Anyone interested in homing one of the cats should visit www.rspca-halifaxandhuddersfield.org.uk or call into the centre in Wade Street, Halifax, or call them on 01422 365628.
