One of Calderdale’s top musicians will be among the performers at the 2014 Brighouse Gala.
Roger Davies will perform from his repertoire, including his special Grand Depart single, at the big annual event in Wellholme Park on Saturday, June 28.
Copies of Roger’s CD “The Grand Depart” have proved popular with fans new and old, with all proceeds being donated to the Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice.
Roger said: “The CDs have been selling extremely well and have raised several hundred pounds for various local charities since it was released last April.”
The last remaining CDs will be on sale at the gala.
In other gala news, organisers have announced that there will not be a fancy dress completion this year, but everyone is welcome to walk in the procession.
The family of Andrew Taylforth, a long-serving committee member for more than 30 years who died in December, will sponsor the prizes for the procession this year in memory of Andrew.
In addition Ian Gyde, a long-time friend of Andrew, who has presented the Punch and Judy show for many years will donate his fee to the Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice in memory of Andrew, who had been a supporter and worker for the charity for many years.
Tickets for the gala are available from the caravan on Wilkinson’s car park from Monday, priced £1.50.
Programmes giving the full timetable of events will also be on sale, priced £1.
