Pupils prepare for their future career
Youngsters were given an insight into future careers at a joint Careers Fair.
Organised with Mirfield Free Grammar School, the Careers Fair gave parents the chance to attend with their children for the first time.
There was more than 1,000 people who attended to speak to more than 50 local businesses and organisations from West Yorkshire and further afield about what options and careers paths were available when they leave school.
Heidi Haigh, who helped to organise the event, said: “The feedback we have received from everyone has been positive and culminated in a very successful Careers Fair.
“Our grateful thanks are extended to all delegates and staff who gave up their time to support all the students.”
Other organisers were Alison Haldenby and Allison Simpson at Mirfield Free Grammar School.
The timing of the event was to coincide with Brighouse High School’s Challenge Week.
Students of all ages from Year Nine upwards benefited in different ways, and enjoyed the opportunities to ask questions and interact with delegates,” said Ms Haigh.
During the week at Brighouse High there was a Year Eight Careers Day, as reported in last week’s Brighouse Echo, and a Year 12 Personal Development Day.
