Pub mourns regular 'Jim'

CUSTOMERS at The Bridge pub in Briggate, Brighouse, are in mourning for one of the regulars, 'Jim' Bradwell, who died at home.

The alarm was raised by licensee Alan Hodgson, who called at Mr Bradwell's home at Whinney Hill Park, Brighouse, after he had not been seen for four days. All the curtains were closed. Mr Bradwell, 59, was known as Jim although his name was Stephen John.

Mr Hodgson said: "He was a regular in the pub for at least the last eight years. He'd come in first thing in the morning, have a drink, and then leave and go for a walk round Brighouse before coming back again in the afternoon.

"He'll be sadly missed by us and by people at a lot of the other pubs in Brighouse. We've all had a few drinks for him. He was part of the fixtures and fittings. He was just Jim."

There are no suspicious circumstances surrounding his death.
