A family run business in Rastrick has won two awards after producing some of the best driveways in Yorkshire.

Chris Hallinan Driveways and Patios based in Rastrick Common competed against more than 1,000 businesses to win best driveway over 70 sq metres and best use of a Marshalls product.

The company is on Marshalls Register which means it is one of the contractors that the Brookfoot company puts forward for domestic premises. Every year they hold an annual awards ceremony to find the best companies in the region.

Each of the companies had to submit examples of their work and Chris and his team put forward five including some where they used some of Marshall’s new products.

Chris Hallinan walked away with two awards and now stands the chance of winning a Toyota Hilux if they are announced the national winner on March 18 held at a Huddersfield hotel. They will go head to head with more than 20 businesses from the UK.

But the family is quietly confident. Chris’s wife Elizabeth said: “We are very pleased that we have won two awards at the regionals and are now competing with business from all over the country.

“Some of our work has been pictured in Marshall’s brochures so we are hoping we stand a good chance. We are excited about the final and happy that we have been shortlisted even if we don’t win.”

The couple’s son Adam also works for them.

David Jessop, operations manager for Marshalls Register, said it was a huge achievement. “We had ten categories and Chris and his company walked away with two of them.”
