The Brighouse Business Initiative - organisers of the new Canal, Beer and Music Festival - are all set for the event on August 30 and 31.
Three outdoor stages in the town centre will provide free live music throughout both days and it is set to be a great weekend for all the family.
Headlining the event will be Brighouse’s own favourite singer Roger Davies.
Roger is celebrating the release of his new single “Wear Your Poppy With Pride” with his homecoming concert at the Civic Hall on Saturday night, August 30, to raise money for the national appeal after getting behind the campaign last year.
The song was created last November with children from Huddersfield. The concert will also feature special guest Fake Thackray.
The BBI organisers have been helped by the Calder Navigation Society and other local canal societies to ensure that the canal will be filled with barges and boats to give a colourful backdrop to the festival, which will also include Brighouse’s largest ever food and craft street market, a fun fair, vintage vehicles, steam railway and dancers.
There will be a real ale tent providing a selection of local brews. See www.brighousecanalfestival.co.uk for more details.
