Clifton Village Nursery has been busy raising funds for Calderdale Royal Hospital.

The children have been learning about aspects of rhythm and rhyme taught through daily early phonics sessions and to end the theme they dressed up as their favourite nursery ryhme character.

The winners were chosen by head teacher at St John’s Primary Academy, Helen Lever who presented them with a prize and the children sang a few songs to her in return.

The nursery raised more than £120 for the special baby care unit at the hospital.

Nursery manager Michelle Tankard said: “Everyone made a huge effort. It’s great when everyone at the nursery works together to raise money and we are delighted to be helping such a worthy and local cause. We would like to thank everyone who has supported and helped us.”
