A BRIGHOUSE businessman is hoping to dance his way to the top when he appears on TV next week.

Sheridan ‘Ess’ Green is part of promising street dance crew, The A-Team, who will be performing in the semi-finals of hit dance show, Got To Dance, which will be aired on Sky HD at 6pm on February 19.

The 21-year-old who runs clothing company Axznt in Bradford Road only joined the group four months ago.

But the A-Team won through to the live shows in the TV contest which started on January 29.

They are among 30 acts selected by the judges, Pussy Cat Dolls, Kymberlee Wyatt, Diversity’s Ashley Banjo and tap dancer Adam Garcia.

“For us to get the exposure would be fantastic. We can start workshops and teach people across the country,” he said.

The A-Team comprises of dancers aged between 11 and 30 who come from all paths of dance. Ess dancing career has taken him all over the country, entering various competitions which is how he met the guys who make up the A-Team.

And he has spent time in Los Angeles and New York, studying dancers and training at the Millennium Dance Studio complex in Hollywood.

“We were all picked from different areas. We have seen the competition and what it takes to be a good competitor so we were put together based on our style and strengths. My job is to do the flips along with another guy and there are two others who do the break dancing and then it is choreographed to bring it all together as a group,” said Ess who lives in Brighouse.

And although Ess is splitting his time between Brighouse and London he is loving ever minute of it. “I am in London every weekend practising with the group and then I am back here on a Monday morning running the business. I love the busy life and it is good to keep going. It is a lot of fun. When I started the shop last year I stopped dancing to concentrate on that but now thanks to the dance crew I have started practising a lot more.”

Albert Yanit, manager of the group, said: “They present themselves as an amazing super-team who all have a passion for dance and who continue to excel and improve in every way or form.”
