Neil celebrates 30 years at Northern Timber Merchants
Neil Hawtin (pictured right) has been presented with a cheque and a bottle of champagne after completing 30 years at Northern Timber Merchants.
Neil said despite being at the company in Wakefield Road, Brighouse, for all those years he still enjoys his job and wouldn’t change it.
“I serve the customers with building materials and timber and I have done the same job for the full 30 years. It is not a bad job and I still enjoy it and find it interesting serving all the customers,” he said.
Neil cycles every morning from his home in Elland but is originally from Brighouse.
Managing director Terry Egan (left) said that Neil was the first employee to reach the milestone and that they did have a second celebrating 30 years in November. “Neil has been with us for the full 30 years, he has never left. He cycles to work every day. He knows everyone in Brighouse and is very well liked by all of his customers.”
Neil aged 52 said he would like to thank the company and its owner Gordon Fawthorp for everything.
