A HIPPERHOLME school helped to raise cash for Help for Heroes.

Pupils at Hipperholme Grammar School were asked to make a donation to wear khaki or red, white and blue.

The decision was made by the student council and leader Lizzie Bell said: “I just thought that with Remembrance Day approaching on November 11, this would be a good charity to support at this point. Also I have sung at quite a few funerals of servicemen and it is very upsetting.”

The students and staff all entered into the spirit of the day and arrived for school dressed in a variety of outfits to support the cause. They raised £356.65.
