BOOKIES’ favourite Matthew Wolfenden definitely didn’t disappoint on TV’s Dancing on Ice scoring a massive 20.5 points.

The Emmerdale actor who used to live at Norwood Green gained not only the top score of the night but the highest score of the current series.

Matthew, a former pupil at Brighouse High told host Phil Schofield after finishing that he had got a “buzz” from his performance. “I was chuffed to bits with that, really happy with it,” he said.

Judge Katarina Witt said: “It was a seven for the right reason, just for your skating skills. Definitely not for how hot you guys are, how sexy you are, how well you look and how great your body movement is.”

Fellow judge Louie Spence was also excited. “It was an explosive performance, almost perfect,” he enthused.

Matthew, who was cheered on by fiancee and co-star Charley Webb, is partnered in the competition by professional ice dancer Nina Ulanova.
