The Brighouse branch of Yorkshire Building Society has shown it has a heart of gold by making a £475 donation to a charity that helps to improve the quality of life for people in the Brighouse area who have had or are at risk of having a cardiac attack.

The branch on Bethel Street nominated local charity Heartbeat for a donation from Yorkshire Building Society Charitable Foundation to buy a treadmill for use by members of the group.

Kathryn Hall manager of Yorkshire Building Society’s Brighouse branch said: “A number of our customers use the Heartbeat group and it’s great that we have been able to support a local cause which has real tangible benefits to the community.

“We’re delighted that the Charitable Foundation has funded the purchase of the treadmill and that it helps Heartbeat continue the valuable work they do.”

Heartbeat is a voluntary organisation in Brighouse which provides exercise, Tai Chi and walks for people who have had or are at risk of having a cardiac attack. It has over 300 members.
