Science week at Hipperholme and Lightcliffe High School (HLHS) featured “Phuntastic Physics” demonstrations, gruesome dissections and extreme explosions with hydrogen pops and the whoosh bottle.

The exciting week ended with Miss Cross’ science challenge where teams of pupils competed against teams of teachers in messy experiments and challenges.

HLHS is also preparing for its annual egg race on May 1. Teams from its feeder primary schools will compete against HLHS year seven pupils in a competition to design a catapult, powered by just an elastic band, that can throw an egg to hit a target five metres away.
