Lightcliffe’s annual gala at the cricket club on Sunday June 22 is set to be bigger and better than ever with hundreds expected to flock through the gates.

The gala is moving to a “midsummer” slot this year from its traditional July date to cater for the Grand Depart.

The popular event, which will once again be free to enter, has stacks of stalls, rides, and games, providing fun and entertainment for all the family.

The gala, which starts at 2pm, will once again be graced by attractions new and old, tradition mixing with a 21st century gala vibe.

Favourites like the bouncy castle, slides, coconut shy, bottle stall, penalty shoot out, tombola and golf pitching will once again grace the ground off Wakefield Road. Entry is free.

If anyone can lend a hand in the next few days to support the gala effort then contact coordinator Steve Hartley on 07803 736959.

There are tables to move, fliers to deliver, and tents to erect.
