Fond farewells from departing teachers and staff

Helen Hall retires from Carr Green Primary School, Rastrick after 21 years.

Familiar faces from Carr Green Primary School will be leaving the school for the final time this week.

Helen Hall, who has greeted people for the last 21 years in her role as school administrator, is retiring.

“I have loved every minute at the school.

“I am going to miss everybody from the staff, children and governors,” she said.

“I have worked under three lovely head teachers and had tremendous fun.”

She won’t be staying away from the Rastrick school for long as she will be helping with the transition and new staff starting in September.

However, after then she will be learning how to play the piano as well as making some time for herself.

Merilyn Mitchell, who has also been a administration assistant for 12 years, is leaving.

Teacher Hazel Thompson will be retiring while Fiona Gardiner will be moving to teach at Halifax High School.
