A CHRISTMAS fair has helped raise vital money for school activities.

A range of stalls helped to pull in a huge crowd at St Joseph’s RC Primary School, Brighouse.

Organised by the Parent Teacher Social Committee, there were craft stalls including homemade Christmas cards and baubles and cupcakes.

There was stalls from OWLS in Brighouse, Temple Spa and the Body Shop as well as ones organised by some of the parents, including one mum who gave Italian cooking demonstrations.

A raffle with prizes such as an iPod Touch, a voucher for Prego and a bottle of champagne was drawn on the night.

Co-chair of the committee Lora Clark said it was a fantastic event. “It was really busy throughout the night and we have since had a couple of complimentary emails from stallholders saying thank you for allowing them to attend and how nice it was to see the school parents support the event and can they come again next year.

“The event has helped to raise funds for school and every single penny raised goes back into school for the children.”

It is thought that around £553 has been raised during the event held at the school in Finkil Street.

On Friday night the committee has also helped to organise a Christmas party, purely for the children when Father Christmas will make a special appearance.

It is an after school event and all parents are welcome to attend. There will also be a disco.
