A pair walking 676 miles across England in memory of their mum and sister have issued a plea for accommodation on the route of their journey, after the company providing them with a motor home pulled out with less than 24 hours to go.
Drew Turner, 22, and uncle Mark Lewis, 49, both of Hipperholme, have already booked camping sites along the route.
However, the duo had booked a four person plus berth motor home to use along the route for the remote parts of the journey but the company providing the vehicle dropped out at 11am this morning (Wednesday).
Mark, said: “I am not backing out. I have invested thousands of hours and literally blood, sweat and tears but we are not sure where to go from here.
“I know it is asking a lot but any help would be appreciated.”
Drew and Mark have raised more than £17,000 so far are embarking on a ‘Long Walk Home’ tomorrow from Land’s End to Halifax, to raise money for Cancer Research UK and Macmillan Cancer Support.
The 26 mile a day walk is expected to take them 26 days and is in memory of Rebecca Turner, who died 20 years ago from skin cancer when Drew was just two years old.
