Cracking down on speeding in day of action

Waiting for Video...

A crackdown on speeding and parking issues was carried out by police and partners agencies as part of a day of action in Rastrick.

Officers from the Lower Valley Neighbourhood Policing team carried out speed checks along Crowtrees Lane with Councillor Chris Pilai (Con, Rastrick) and the Speed Indication Device (SiD) from Calderdale Council.

PC Chris Madden said it was a growing concern amongst residents in the whole of Rastrick and will be conducting checks along Huddersfield Road.

“We are also on the lookout for more Neighbourhood Watch coordinators.

“We already have quite a few in the area who are really good but if we can get some more, it has been proven that burglaries and crimes committed fall. We can send out information packs and come round to talk through the role as a coordinator.”

Coun Pilai added that at a recent PACT meeting , crime figures had fallen throughout the area, and that is down to the work between residents and the Lower Valley NPT.
