Britain’s Biggest Pub Tour came to Brighouse this week as part of Stonegate Pub Company’s 620 pub relay to raise money for Variety, The Children’s Charity.
A giant passport is on a 5,555-mile journey from Inverness to the Isle of White with the staff from each pub along the way coming up with imaginative ways to hand it over to the next pub or bar.
Steve Richardson, general manager at The Calder, said: “We had staff from Yates’s in Huddersfield arrive on Harley Davidsons, and we took the passport to Halifax dressed as the Blues Brothers in an American police car.
“There have been some really creative ways the passport has been delivered - we’ve seen it being taken in Mayor’s cars and even a zip-line between bars in Manchester.”
Staff at The Calder raised £480, adding to the £78,000 total raised so far for the charity.
The passport was transported to Yates’s on Silver Street in Halifax, and was greeted by Mayor of Calderdale and a family fun day featuring Peppa Pig and face-painting.
