RUNNERS of all ages and abilities took to the woods at Bradley Wood Scout Camp to take part in the sixth Woodland Challenge.

Organised by the Stadium Runners, 220 athletes took on the challenging course through Brighouse with all the funds raised being handed over to the scout camp.

Anthony Phillips, one of the organisers, said everyone had a great day and they had had plenty of positive feedback.

“I have already had emails asking about next year’s event. The response has been amazing.

“One of the runners from Otley said the day was fantastic and was one of the best organised events in the local area. We had people from all over from Sheffield, Hull, Barnsley and a father and son from Stockport who came for the fun run and are looking forward to next year.

“We had 53 kids taking part in the fun run. All the marshals cheered them on around the course and they all loved it.

“A big thank you must go to everyone who supported the event and the volunteers who were fantastic and took time out of their day to help.”

Before the main race, there was a fun run for children with everyone receiving a medal and a goody bag.

The ladies’ team event was won by Stainland Lions while Halifax Harriers won the men’s.
