B&R president steps down after 18 years at the helm

The president of the Brighouse and Rastrick Band for the past 18 years, has stepped down from his position.

Paul Beaumont first became president of B&R in 1998 when, as managing director of two divisions of Motorola’s Europe, Middle East and Africa business, he sponsored the band to defend their European title in Munich.

“I have been honored to hold the position of President of the world famous Brighouse and Rastrick Band for the last 18 years.

“B&R is a wonderful insitution and I am privileged to have been part of a dedicated and expert team that has steered the band through the most recent phase of its development.

“It is now time to bring in a new face, with new ideas and the energy to take over. I wish the team and my successor all the best for the future”.

Paul and his wife Julie, who was also previously heavily invlolved with the band, intend to spend more time with their children and grandchildren in both Scotland and Dubai.

Paul will remain a member of the Yorkshire Brass Band Regional Committee.
