Appeal for witnesses after Leeds car crash

Police are appealing for witnesses following a road traffic collision in Leeds yesterday (Monday) which happened after a car failed to stop for officers.

The incident occurred when a roads policing vehicle tried to stop a Fiat Punto in Dewsbury Road, Beeston, at about 6.37pm. The vehicle made off before losing control a short time later and colliding with parked cars and the front of a shop near to the junction with Tempest Road.

The car was also in collision with a 34-year-old woman pedestrian who received serious injuries. She was taken to Leeds General Infirmary for treatment. Her injuries are not believed to be life threatening.
