To kick off what is sure to be another great year for crowd-pleasing events in Brighouse the award-winning Spring Totally Locally Market will be taking place on Saturday, April 27.

The Spring Market will have something for everyone with several new stallholders confirmed for the event in addition to old favourites.

Visitors can be tempted by homemade pork pies from The Porkery, savoury and sweet tarts from David Cordon as well as a hog roast and locally made sausages from GigPig.

If that’s not enough to tempt you, Brighouse’s own Love Bread, the community breadbakers will also have a stall at the Spring Market and for those with a sweet tooth then Get Chocolatey are returning with their delicious chocolate fountain or for a mouthwatering selection of homemade cakes visit the Sweet Sensations stall.

Totally Locally, the innovative shop local campaign, has helped to change shopping habits considerably with more residents now enjoying their local shops, and experiencing the great product range, fantastic knowledge and personal customer service on offer from the wide range of independent businesses in Brighouse.

Nowhere was this ethos more clearly demonstrated than at the Totally Locally markets that have gone from strength to strength since the first market was held two years ago.

A hot food banquet will be available from the Street Pakistani restaurant, Temujin Restaurant of Sowerby Bridge are returning with their Mongolian stir fry and there will be refreshments provided at the Brighouse Rest Centre. To get a spring in your step, school choirs will be singing throughout the day and Brighouse’s very own Marshalls Amusements will be back with their fairground rides.

Lesley Adams, one of the event organisers, said: “The markets have proven to be a huge success and are a wonderful opportunity to have some family fun without breaking the bank.

“They are also a great chance for visitors to see what a vibrant town centre we have in Brighouse and I’m sure that our Spring Totally Locally Market will be one of our best yet.

“Our markets have become synonymous with offering visitors the chance to buy some great quality local produce.”
