Administrators hopeful of finding a new buyer for cricket firm
THERE are hopes that a new buyer will be found for a business that was put into administration.
Rochdale-based Romida Sports Limited, who have one of their four stores in Wakefield Road, Brighouse, called in PKF LLP Accountants and business advisers on October 4.
Two members of staff have been made redundant from the Brighouse store that specialises in cricket clothing and equipment.
Kerry Bailey, one of the appointed administrator’s along with Jon Newell, said efforts were made by Romida to turn the business around and secure investment without success. “We have had a significant amount of interest already and are currently in discussions with a number of parties.”
Romida Sports was a family run business that had traded in the cricket sector for over 30 years. It stocked a massive range of cricket bats, pads, gloves, footwear and clothing and cricket bags and it also specialised in junior cricket equipment.
The Manchester office of PKF is seeking buyers for the family business as a whole or as separate units.
The company’s website says suppliers to the company, customers who have paid deposits and customers who have claims for refunds should detail their claims by contacting the joint administrators.
Romida Teamwear Ltd is not affected.
