It was Ladies’ Night at The Tannery, Hipperholme - and the feeling was just right for an evening of charity fund-raising.

Friends Maxine Harrop and Ellie Morley organised the event to raise money for the Forget-Me-Not Children’s Hospice.

There were stalls offering beauty advice and hair and make-up products, a fashion show and raffle.

Guests were greeted by waiters James Doodson and Gary Robinson serving glasses of bubbly and cupcakes.

Maxine, whose partner Rob Greenwood runs the popular pub, said: “It was a brilliant evening. There was a lot of support from local businesses and a great atmosphere. We decided we just wanted to raise money for a good cause and we know the Forget-Me-Not Hospice does such a lot of good work for local children.”

The evening raised more than £440 and and an additional £100 was raised from a guess-the-name of the doll competition.
