Summer time fun descended on Carr Green Nursing Home when it held its summer fair.
The event at the Rastrick home on Carr Green Lane, saw a variety of stalls including bric-a-brac, women’s jewellery and handmade crafts.
There was a selection of world food from Asia to traditional barbecues and homemade jams and chutneys.
Crowds were kept entertained by the Brighouse Star Twirlers and singers performing tunes from yesteryear while youngsters were kept busy with face painting and hook a duck.
Susan Harrison, secretary at Carr Green nursing home, said the day was a real success with over 150 people attending.
“We had friends and family, past residents and current ones come to the day. It went really well and we had very good weather for it. One of the residents Eva Barraclough was into bikes when she was younger and was really impressed with the Spiderman bikes.
“A new events coordinator has been appointed so we hope to make this into an annual event and to hold more during the year.
“We managed to raise £480 which will go towards residents’ funds and will go towards gifts, trips out and for guest visitors to come into the home.”
