Incredible Edible Brighouse continues to be growing and improving the town centre but needs more help from volunteers.

The grow your own scheme, run by members of the community for the community, was set up in 2013.

It aims to help plant fruit and vegetables in unloved and neglected areas in and around Brighouse.

Now into its third year the group has worked in partnership with the Safer, Stronger, Greener section of Calderdale Council and has “incredibled”many areas of the town centre.

Jackie Braddock, from the group, said: “We have been approached about lots of other projects too but we need help.

“Anyone who can spare an hour or two each fortnight to help us plant new plants and maintain the beds or perhaps help man the stall at one of or fundraising events”.

The group will be holding its annual Community Consultation Evening and Annual General Meeting at 7.30pm on Tuesday, May 19, in The Link at Central Methodist Church, Brighouse.
