Ladies from a local art group and women’s institute are joining a nationwide campaign to raise money for Age UK.

Members of the Rastrick Art Club and the Fixby WI are knitting hats for the top of smoothie bottles as part of Innocent Drinks “Big Knit” bobble hat project.

Since they began knitting in June, the art club and the WI have knitted around 1000 hats between them.

For every hat they knit Sainsbury’s supermarket and Innocent Drinks will each donate 25p to Age UK.

The money raised will be used to provide services for vulnerable older people this winter, as part of the charity’s winter warmth appeal.

For more information about how you can help, even if you can not knit, call the Choices Centre in Halifax on 01422 399830.
