The Huddersfield Hilly Half Marathon will be running for its third year on Sunday, October 6, and Look North presenter Harry Gration is the first runner to sign up.
Harry, 62, will take on the challenging 13.1 mile challenge through the hilly terrain of Huddersfield, and in doing so; help raise money for Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice.
The charity near Brighouse is again partnering up with medical service company Prohms to deliver the race, which last year raised over £5,000.
Senior Community Fundraiser, Samantha Wood, said: “This year’s Huddersfield Hilly Half Marathon is going to be bigger than ever.
“We aim to raise a wonderful £10,000 from the event which would help us towards providing care and support to the children and families who use Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice.”
Harry said: “Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice is a wonderful place, and I am pleased that I can support the charity by running its third annual Huddersfield Hilly Half Marathon.”
The Half-Marathon is open to all single runners and corporate teams, and Hannah Cockroft, Double Gold Paralympian and Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice Ambassador will be starting the race.
